I am a recent (December '98) graduate from the University of Maryland at College Park, the largest of the three major campuses. For those of you who usually come to this site to see an ex-college student still looking for a job sorry to disappoint you, I found one. I now work in the Billing Customer Support department at Intermedia Digex. I am really happy here so far. The people are great, I like the company, and the business is one I can see myself growing in.

The things that I find myself doing most often
I love to study history including both modern and ancient civilizations. I like to play racquetball when I make the time. I have just begun SCUBA diving and hope to get more into it. I love hiking especially at night. I enjoy mountain biking although I am not a crazy cyclist, and I probably spend most of my time studying people and why they do the things they do.

    My Favorite Locations
    • Having lived in many areas of the country and visited almost every state I will have to say that my favorite place is Rome (not the one in Wisconsin). I visited Rome a few years ago and was so inspired that I sought and found a degree in History specializing in Ancient/Mediterranean studies. It was amazing to me to be in the Capital of a civilization that ruled longer and with more authority than any other known civilization. If you want to be overwhelmed visit Rome, a city that has "new buildings" that are older than our country.

    • My second favorite place to be is Colorado, a state I used to live in. Colorado is incredible. The air and water are crystal clear and the scenic views are breathtaking. Colorado is somewhat of a mecca for an outdoor enthusiast like myself. There is quite a bit of rock climbing, mountaineering, hiking, backpacking, paddling, skiing (Nordic and Alpine), ice-skating, cycling (mountain and road), and many other fun activities. Plus, the high altitude really gets you into shape.

    My Favorite movies

    1. Of course first place is uncontended with episode V The EMPIRE STRIKES BACK
The movie all together is terrific. It represents the second stage of an epic that concludes with the conclusion in wander as the "bad guys" appear to be wining. The movie is exciting with non-stop action beginning with an exhilarating battle on the ice-covered planet, Hoth, between the rebel alliance and the Empire's All Terrain Armored Transports.

I am also eagerly awaiting set to release May 19th, 1999 (wahoo).

    2. John
Travolta as Chili Palmer My second favorite movie would have to be Get Shorty Where John Travolta shows, once again, how cool he is when he begins the movie as a loan shark and ends it as co-producer of a major Hollywood production while he is dating Karen Flores (Rene Russo) an actress.
      John Travolta
      as
      Chili Palmer

    3. The Fifth Element is also one of my top choices.

    4. And finally, Hudson Hawk
One of the great parts about this movie is the terrific songs that are sung by the two leads: Eddie Hawkins (Bruce Willis) and Tommy Five-Tone (Danny Aiello).

    Sunset in Maryland

    Sunset in Maryland

This picture of the sunset was taken with my Casio digital camera by my fiance'. For those of you who have not experienced a digital camera, I highly recommend visiting your local electronics store and checking them out. Be sure to bring your checkbook because it will be difficult to leave the camera in the store once you play with it. I love the convenience of knowing instantly whether the pictures turned out well or not.

    My Congressional Intern Experience

My experience working in a Congressional Office from October 1997 to December 1998 was terrific. I received six upper level credits through a historical internship program at school. My assignment was to work a certain amount of hours and write a paper in which I discuss the Capitol as a historical tour. For the paper, I mostly drew from what I had learned during my time there but I also used a lot of new information I learned about the early years of the Capitol and the many stages it went through to become the icon of the free world like it is today.
